The Sanderling Club
Siesta Key's Most Exclusive Address
The only gated single-family home community on Siesta Key, The Sanderling Club presents an unparalleled expression of the grand coastal living. A membership-based community, the neighborhood is beautifully planned with spacious home sites perfectly sat on the Gulf of Mexico, along with the tranquil Heron Lagoon. Residence enjoy the barefoot luxury of life by one of the worlds most spectacular beaches, from within architectural eight diverse homes nestled amid a glistening canopy of rich tropical foliage and natural Florida wildlife.
Tracing its roots to the early 1940s, The Sanderling Club began as a winter resort on Siesta Key with small carriage homes and charming beach cabana. Renowned Sarasota architect Paul Rudolph was hired to design cabanas, a clubhouse and an observation tower. Rudolph's contemporary approach included curved plywood roof lines for the cabanas – inspired by the gentle ocean waves. Structural issues in the later years meant the tower was torn down, but the cabanas and clubhouse have been fully restored and are now listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Today, some of the most magnificent homes on the Florida's gulf coast are found within The Sanderling Club.
The center of the communal life is the clubhouse, poise directly on the Gulf of Mexico to showcase sweeping views from the large patio and grill area. Here, an active social calendar enhances the special sense of community, with potluck suppers, welcome-back parties and holiday events throughout the year. Three tennis courts and a playground structure for children ensure an active lifestyle for all the family, while access to a private, fifteen boat marina off Little Sarasota Bay is the perfect getaway to boating adventures. Twenty-five historic waterfront cabana for exclusive member use are beautifully perched on the shore of the Gulf of Mexico and on balmy Florida evenings you'll find residents sipping cocktails and grilling dinner as the sun sets.
The Members of Sanderling appreciate the Club's rich Sarasota history and magical charm, as well as it's lush, natural landscape and understand, yet architecturally diverse, homes with uncommon privacy.
